Major Embodiment of the Tarot
About Major Embodiment of the Tarot:
This course is an introduction to the Tarot through the concept of embodiment through art. Students will learn the fundamentals of this ancient system and how to apply the symbols, colors, and meanings of the Major Arcana archetypes to their own personal self-portraits for each of the Major Arcana's 22 cards. Through guided meditations and journaling prompts, students will understand the archetypal meanings, symbols, and even psychology behind the cards. Students will create 22 painted portraits based on these archetypes, embodying the very essence of the cards in a way that makes learning the Tarot easy and fun! Students will learn numerous methods for using the Tarot to elevate their personal, spiritual, and creative practices. The cards are creative and intuitive tools that can be used intentionally to lead to deeper insights into who we are. This is a basic course for all levels and types of individuals. It doesn't matter if you can't draw, nor if you have ever used a tarot deck before. While we will primarily use Tarot cards in this course, we will also touch on, and incorporate, other intuitive guidance systems (astrology, numerology, sigils, etc.).
